Stockman Group Laboratories and Equipment

The group currently has a grant holding of over £1.8M. Over the past 10 years our research has been funded by EPSRC, BBSRC, GlaxoSmithKline, Bayer, Lilly, CAPES, EU (IMI), Pfizer, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, The Leverhulme Trust, Merck, Sharpe and Dohme, AstraZeneca, University of East Anglia, University of Nottingham and NSF.

Our laboratories are well equipped for state-of-the-art synthetic chemistry, with 2m fume cupboards for each researcher, Biotage Initiator microwave reactor with a 60-place robot, ReactArray automated reaction workstation, Agilent 1200 HPLC, Vapourtech Flow reactor with autosampler and low temperature facility, Radleys parallel synthesis apparatus and Biotage SP4 automated purification system.

The School of Chemistry, rated No. 2 chemistry department in RAE 08, has a wide range of state-of-the-art analytical facilities including 8 NMR spectrometers (800, 600, 500, 2x400, 360, 300, 270 MHz) and 4 mass-spectrometers (open access LC-TOF, MALDI-TOF, FT-ICR and a magnetic sector instrument (EI, CI, FAB)), HPLC, FT-IR, UV/Vis.
